Cardiff JD Wetherspoons, spacious drinking area plus sitting upstairs with no music and no big screen TV but a good atmosphere and a cheap pint with a good range of food .They had a No football shirts policy which they seem to have forgone and Door Staff on the door match days. Update the pub is becoming more Cardiff City friendly with fans wearing Bluebird tops getting in. THE LANSDOWNE HOTEL Lansdowne Road, Canton. Cardiff. Another very popular pub with the City fans, the lounge as been turned into a themed Cardiff City room. There is a large bar with a lot of space; the food is very good with the normal pub grub served. There is Sky Sports on big screen in both bars. Friendly away fans welcome. It's a small friendly pub with the normal pub grub on offer, Football shirts welcome to. WESTGATE Cowbridge Road East Large high-ceilinged, locals' drinker that used to be a hotel. THE GOAT MAJOR 33 High Street (Top of St Mary Street) A popular city pub with a strong military theme, reflecting the strong links between Brains Brewery and the Welsh Regiment. THE COTTAGE St Mary Street Town Centre. Cardiff A long, narrow pub, more than 100 years old, well-renovated and very welcoming. The landlord describes it as `quiet and traditional', and it's a great place for a pre-match meal. All the food, which includes steak-and-ale pie, liver-and-onions, fish-and-chips, is home-made, served 12-3. SAM'S BAR St Mary Street, Town Centre. Cardiff Been used by the police to house away fans who came by train for the bigger games a few season ago. The name says it all a egg chasers pub but you get a good pint and the food was good. FLAIRS St Mary Street, Town Centre Formally Rosie O'Brien's Lively pub with colorful interior. THE ALBERT St Mary Street, Town Centre Famous pub adjoining Brains Brewery. Has a working men's bar downstairs. Upstairs is an air-conditioned lounge and the only skittle alley in the city centre. OWAIN GLYNDWR John Square, City Centre. Owain Glyndwr has top hot/cold counter with good selection of food a large drinking area plus outside on the warm winter days. A fairly long walk to the ground taxi's can be found on the Hayes. BAR EMPORIUM St Mary Street, Town Centre. Cardiff. Food available during the day. Does get very busy in the evenings, especially on Fridays. PHILHARMONIC St Mary Street, Town Centre A large city centre pub, popular with students and locals alike, with food served during the day and a nightclub downstairs this is a good bet if you fancy a bit of a session without walking around town all day.
