This years FA Cup Final and Play Off games produced a variety of locomotive hauled traffic as is usual. However since EWS has less work for their modern fleet of class 67's, the type featured far more heavily than in previous years. Operating in both multiple and top and tail modes, the displaced machines replaced the more usual diet of class 47's and class 37's.

The GM invasion continued with the highly unusual use of 66249 on one service. It is seen above stabled at Canton after being serviced and prepared for its return journey. The news was not all bad however as the old order again put in an appearance in the shape of Fragonsets through wired 31106 & 31454, together with Freightliners 47847. With work on the new Wembly progressing, 2005 may be the last opportunity to savour the sights and sounds of real locomotives on service trains heading for these end of season games.
