Unfortunately my
early attempts at railway
photography were somewhat crude
to say the least. It seems that
everything had to be static in
order to attract my cameras
attention and everything was
shot using cheap print film.
On the plus side it was far
easier to gain permission to
wander around Cardiff Canton in
those days and of course Severn
Tunnel Junction was still open.
Severn Tunnel was always the
place to go to see rare traction
from foreign regions before more
mundane local traction was
swapped. Class 40's and 20's
were frequent visitors to the
yard but rarely ventured further
westwards.
